Using this website
Set out who operates the site, acceptable use, availability, external links, intellectual property and how content may be reused. Avoid exclusions that would be unfair or legally ineffective.
Donations
Explain accepted payment methods, when a donation is complete, which provider processes payments, whether fees apply, the purpose of each appeal, Gift Aid requirements, recurring payment cancellation and how donors can contact the charity.
Restricted appeals and changed circumstances
Trustees should approve the wording used where donors choose a specific purpose. Explain clearly, before payment, what may happen if an appeal raises more than needed, does not proceed or circumstances materially change.
Refunds
State how a donor can report an error or request consideration of a refund, the information required and any relevant timeframes. The wording should align with charity law, the payment provider’s process and the charity’s approved donations policy.
Events and registrations
Include booking, cancellation, safeguarding, photography, accessibility and participant conduct terms where relevant. Event-specific conditions should appear before a person books.
Contact and complaints
Provide a clear charity contact route and link to the approved fundraising complaints process. If registered with the Fundraising Regulator, display the appropriate escalation route and badge in line with its rules.
