Behind every act of care

Clear standards.
Shared responsibility.

Whether you come to us for support, volunteer your time, make a donation or work alongside us, these policies explain the standards we set and the processes you can expect.

They make our commitments visible: treating people with dignity, acting on concerns, respecting privacy and making decisions in the charity's best interests. We invite you to read, ask questions and help us keep improving.

Care starts with how we work.

From principles to practice

What happens when you speak up?

Our policies set out the detail. Here is the approach they ask us to follow when a question, concern or complaint is raised.

  1. We listen

You can explain what happened and what you need. Tell us about any communication support or adjustments that would help.

  2. We find the right route

We consider urgency, safety and who should respond. Safeguarding concerns need prompt protective action and must not wait for a complaints timetable.

  3. We respond fairly

The relevant policy guides the review, response times and next steps. Conflicts of interest must be managed, and information shared only where needed.

  4. We learn & improve

We explain the outcome as appropriate, offer the relevant review route and use concerns to identify changes to our work.

An open conversation
